A man was shot after he approached two construction workers to ask for money, according to a San Antonio Police Department spokeswoman.
The man, whom police did not identify, is in his mid-20s and in critical condition. SAPD Public Information Officer Lizzandra Trevino said he was shot in the torso.
The shooting stemmed from the man approaching a vehicle with two other men inside near La Villita, Trevino said. He asked for money, and the construction workers said they didn’t have any.
Trevino said the man grabbed the vehicle door handle and the passenger exited to move him away.
During the physical altercation, the passenger shot the man, according to Trevino.
No arrests have been made, and both construction workers are speaking to police during the investigation.
